Rabbi James Feder will be launching a new Exploring Judaism & Adult B’nei Mitzvah cohort this fall — and registration is now open! For thousands of years, Judaism has helped people create lives of meaning through study and spirituality, ritual practice and moral action. At its core, Judaism is about a covenantal relationship with God, and through that relationship it has the capacity to touch every aspect of life. It’s a complex, capacious, and often contradictory system, and that’s the key to its beauty — and its fun. But that can also be intimidating. This course is designed to empower adult learners by providing an extensive yet digestible survey of Judaism’s key components, beliefs, and practices.
Throughout the coming year, we will meet weekly on Sunday mornings at 11:30 AM, with our first Exploring Judaism class on October 12th. Anyone interested in delving deeper into Jewish tradition and practice — whether you plan to participate in the Adult B’nei Mitzvah ceremony or not — is welcome to participate. Those who have already become Bar or Bat Mitzvah are also welcome to join, as is anyone pursuing conversion.
Beginning in the winter, we will begin to incorporate Hebrew language acquisition. By the end of the summer, students will be ready to begin learning to chant from the Torah in preparation for a group ceremony in the winter of 2026/2027.
