the ancient yogic tradition of Kundalini Yoga
at Temple Ner Tamid.

This class is powerful yet accessible, and is intentionally designed to support anyone working with addiction, codependence, stress, emotional overwhelm, or simply wanting to feel more connected and supported in their body.
All classes are donation-based and open to all levels. Please bring a yoga mat!
Kundalini is known as the householder’s yoga — a practice for real people with real lives. The benefits are vast, to name a few: It helps to regulate the nervous system, build resilience, release stored tension, and reconnect you with your inner clarity.
Rachel offers a gentle, grounding experience that blends Kundalini Yoga, meditation, psycho-somatic tools, and music. She honors the sacred spiritual roots of the practice while weaving in a vibrant, eclectic soundtrack — creating an environment that feels grounding, uplifting, and supportive.
Rachel Khints is an integrative, somatic-based psychotherapist specializing in treating addiction and the affected loved ones, as well as complex relational and systems trauma.
She recently became certified in teaching trauma-informed, Kundalini Yoga.

I’m collecting toys for Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, NJ for my Mitzvah Project.
A Mitzvah Project is a meaningful way to help repair the world (Tikkun Olam), an important part of the Jewish tradition that I have been learning about for the past year while studying for my Bar Mitzvah. I chose to do this because over the summer I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and have been receiving treatment at this very special hospital every month. I am so grateful for the care I receive and the kind and comforting staff who take care of me. I also know how lucky I am that I get to go home after just a couple of hours to live a normal life with my family and friends.
Sadly, I also know that most kids at this hospital are not that fortunate. That’s why I am asking you to donate toys to help get their minds off their situations and help them have a break from being sick kids, to just being kids, with some fun and entertainment while in the hospital. And with the holidays coming, these gifts are even more important!
Please purchase a gift (s) from one of the 2 wish lists that the hospital has put together.
Additional directions below.
Click here to purchase from the hospital’s Amazon Wish List
Click here to purchase from the hospital’s Target Wish List
Please send your gift EITHER directly to the hospital (default shipping address) with a note “Miles Archer Toy Drive” OR to my house (address below) and we will deliver all donated toys personally in December. The deadline for gifts is FRIDAY DECEMBER 12, 2025
Miles Archer • Goryeb Toy Drive • 41 Aubrey Rd • Montclair NJ • 07043
Thank you so much for supporting my Mitzvah Project!

Creative Liturgy Workshop with Rabbi James Feder
The prayers we recite by rote each week were not handed down fully formed from heaven—they were written by real people, reaching for words to express their hopes and fears, their loves and losses.
Over time, those personal prayers became the shared liturgy of the Jewish people. But sometimes, the ancient words of others don't quite resonate, which is why the process of prayer writing must be ongoing.
Join Rabbi Feder once a month at 10:00am
to explore new liturgy being written for our current moment
and take a hand at writing some yourself.

Our beloved congregant, Adam Cohen, is desperately in need of a kidney.
Learn more to see if you might be a match!
We know the idea of donating a kidney can feel daunting.
If you want more information about the process,
visit the website www.renewal.org/aboutkidneydonation .
We have members of our congregation who have donated
and are experts that can also tell you about the process.
In the coming weeks, we will be back in touch
with more information about how to help Adam and his family.
If you know anyone who might want to see this information, feel free to forward it along.

We will meet again on Tuesday, December 16th with Clint Edwards performing!

Karen Frank, our Congregational Nurse,
offers two kinds of informal discussion groups a month, on Zoom,
one for Caregiving Family Members, and one for Grandparents.
The Caregiving Group is for adults with aging or ill parents or spouses.
We discuss questions about “how to keep them safe”, “when to get help”,
“where should they live”, “how do I deal with their confusion”.
We meet the first Thursday of the month, at 7:30pm.
The Grandparents group meets to discuss candidly
the real issues of relationships with grandchildren and their parents.
In a Facebook environment, an idealized picture
of these relationships often make us feel inadequate.
We discuss our real experiences in our safe and comfortable small group setting.
We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm.
Please feel free to reach out individually at nursekarenfrank@gmail.com as well.

Tai Chi @ TNT...Thursday evenings 6PM-8PM

Tai Chi is an ancient art that encompasses movement, exercise, meditation, and a delightful way to enhance health. Originating over 2000 years ago, it is often attributed to Lao Tzu, who is also credited with the book Tao Te Ching. Tai Chi serves as a form of movement meditation, skillfully designed to enhance balance and mobility.
With over 20 years of dedicated learning and practice,
Ray Wolfson and Irene Sherman are passionate Tai Chi practitioners.
According to them, 'Our growth within this art
continues through both teaching and personal practice.'
The classes offer a nonjudgmental and enjoyable environment, understanding that progress takes time and consistent practice.
